Where does your weave come from?
Maniabandha is a quaint Buddhist weavers village in the Cuttack district of Odisha. These weavers are staunch followers of the teachings of Buddha, and believe all the same in the might of Lord Jagannath weaving poems and bhajans in his name! Art & spirituality come together here at Maniabandha. The village is most popular for their myraid designs through 'tie & dye' technique which is intense, intricate, and requires a lot of mathematical intellect!

The weaves from this village are available in both Silk & Cotton. The speciality design of these weaves are the Kumbha' or the 'Kalash which you will notice in all sarees!

Who is your weaver?
Ajay Mahaptra and his wife together weave, and are very strong on emotions. They believe the weaving process is an art which must be preserved and respected. For them, weaving is their livelihood and means to spirituality.

They spend over 9 hours everyday weaving and building creative ideas for fresh designs! They have woven these sarees with a lot of love, care, and devotion.
