The craft is believed to have been introduced in Odisha when the Mughals established their rule in India. Pankaj Kumar Sahoo

Shri Pankaj Kumar Sahoo lives with his family at Chandini Chowk, Cuttack, Odisha and has started his career as a Silver Filigree Artisan from his teenage.

His finest Silver work has earned him National Award for the year 1994-95. In an unfortunate accident in 2004, he lost his left hand; but it could not stop him from his work and he only continued to excel at the making of this Craft.

Today, he is a Master Artisan and extends his mentoring support to the younger generation of Silver Filigree Artisans.
